SPAMIA

Throughout 2010-2013, under the acronym SPAMIA, Slovanet carried out a research and development project of new algorithms for recognition of unsolicited electronic communication supported also by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic.

SLOVANET IS A PIONEER IN SECURITY

Slovanet is a telecom operator that has been a pioneer since its inception, with a particular focus on the security of electronic communications and data transmission. For example, he was the founder of the First Slovak Certification Authority and as the first entity began to issue certificates for electronic signature and the first Internet provider in Slovakia began to provide the service  safe:MAIL – e-mail box with multiple antivirus protection. In 2010, as the first operator, it launched the service Secure Internet, which effectively protects customers from access to unwanted websites, as well as an educational website www.bezpecnyinternet.sk.

In the corporate segment, Slovanet has been known for a long time by its virtual private networks (VPNs) for secure communication between branch offices and organizations over the Internet and the comprehensive Internet connection protection solution safe:LINK.

SPAMIA PROJECT

Another unique activity of Slovanet in the field of computer security is its own research and development project SPAMIA, which deals with unsolicited electronic communication, its manifestations and consequences, as well as ways of its dissemination and masking. It analyzes the effectiveness of the spam detection procedures used and the project will result in the design of new intelligent search models with higher efficiency, taking more into account the national specificities.

The SPAMIA project is planned for three years and, due to its importance, has also received support from the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic within the provided incentives for research and development from the state budget under Act no. 185/2009 on incentives for research and development in the area of ​​information and communication technologies. Slovanet will gradually publish the official results of the individual stages and studies at http://spamia.slovanet.sk, via contributions in professional publications or press releases.
