At the beginning of April 2018, Slovanet carried out a change of the internal infrastructure for their customer EUROPA SC a.s. (on behalf of CBRE s.r.o) and their connection to the Internet with the capacity of 50 Mbps, together with Wi-Fi coverage of the complete public areas of the shopping mall Europa Shopping Center in Banská Bystrica.
In addition to distribution of free Wi-Fi for large-scale customers, Cisco Meraki technology with 31 access points has also provided anonymized analytical data, such as real-time device location statistics (heat maps), traffic trends, time spent visiting, or conversion of repeated visits. Thanks to the aero:LINK | SPOT product, using the Cisco CMX Engage technology, the CBRE marketing department can collect voluntarily provided email addresses of their visitors (in line with GDPR) for the purpose of their further approach and use mobile technologies for marketing promotion. More than 9000 unique visitors used the Wi-Fi system in the first 2 weeks of its operation and the overall amount of the data transferred was 920 GB. Up to 30% of data traffic falls under Facebook, followed by YouTube with 15%. The most used devices for connection were Huawei with 28%, followed by Apple with 26%.
